Do you think these women look related? Turns out that the girl on the left is a 23-year old that lives in Fayetteville, North Carolina, while the girl on the right is a 33-year old that lives in Spring, Texas.
Ambra and Jennifer first met each other on Twin Strangers, an online project which helps people find their real-life doppelganger anywhere in the world.
“One day I came home from work and I read about this site Twin Strangers,” Jennifer explains in a YouTube video documenting their meet-up.
“I just put in my parameters, and there she was.”
“When I finally met her, it was like ‘Oh my goodness, there’s another person, she really does have my face!’,” Ambra said.
“I have always felt a bit out of place. I thought it would be fun to find someone that I might have more in common with,” Jennifer said.
“There was a moment after we did our makeup that I looked in the mirror. I thought I was looking at myself at first, but the mirror wasn’t angled properly for that.”
“When I realised my mistake, I turned the mirror and felt a jolt of shock when I saw us together. It was actually a pretty terrifying feeling, like seeing your own ghost,” Jennifer said.
Jennifer’s mother was so shocked when she met Ambra that she even asked Ambra if she is adopted.
“You look so much like my daughter! Your smiles are the same. How is this possible?” she said.
Twin Strangers was started by Dublin woman Niamh Geaney and two of her friends, Harry English and Terence Manzanga, in April this year.
After Ms Geaney founder her own doppelganger – another Irishwoman who lived just 30 minutes away – she started the project to help connect identical strangers all around the world.
